Japan Machine Tool Orders Rise Sharply In January

Japan's machine tool orders surged 192% year-on-year in January after an increase of 63.4% in December, Japan Machine Tool Builders' Association said Tuesday.

The sharp increase in total orders was led by external demand, which soared 297% in January compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, domestic orders climbed 78.9%.
