Italy's industrial turnover increased a seasonally adjusted 1.9% month-on-month in December, the statistical office Istat said on Friday.
For the October to December period, industrial turnover rose 1.4% compared to the July to September period.
Year-on-year, industrial turnover dropped a calender adjusted 2.5% in December and was down 19% in in the January to December period. On an unadjusted basis, industrial turnover grew 0.8% in December.
Meanwhile, industrial new orders climbed a seasonally adjusted 4.7% month-on-month in December, compared to the 0.5% fall expected by economists. On an annual basis, new orders climbed 10.1% in December, faster than the 2.7% decline expected by economists. For the January to December period, new orders decreased 22.4% over a year ago.
