Hungary Dec. Trade Surplus Drops

Hungary's trade surplus stood at EUR 375.4 million in December, the Central Statistical Office reported Tuesday. Economists had expected the trade surplus to fall to EUR 271 million from EUR 409.5 million in November. Exports rose 8.8% annually to EUR 4.88 billion, while imports fell 1.3% to EUR 4.5 billion in December.

During January to December, value of exports was EUR 59.69 billion and imports totaled EUR 55.12 billion, resulting in a surplus of EUR 4.57 billion.
