Kazakhstan Consumer Price Inflation Slows Further In August

Kazakhstan's consumer prices climbed 6.2% year-on-year in August, slower than a 6.9% rise in the preceding month, the country's statistical office said Tuesday.

During the month, price of food items rose 4.7% on a yearly basis, while prices of non-food items were up 6.1%. Price of paid services increased 8.5%.

Month-on-month, consumer prices rose 0.2% in August, slower than a 0.3% increase in the preceding month.

For the first eight months of the year, consumer prices were up 8% compared to the same period last year.
