Japan's import bill for custom-cleared crude and condensate came in at 724 billion yen in August, the Ministry of Finance said on Thursday, marking a 61 percent decline on year.
Crude import volume was 17.88 million kiloliters in August, the data showed, for a 12 percent annual contraction.
Naphtha and gasoline imports in August came in at 2.3 million tons, up an annual 1.1 percent. Imports of LNG were 5.4 million tons, down 5.9 percent on year. Coal imports were 14.5 million tons, down an annual 15 percent.
