Chile's trade surplus stood at US$ 1.53 billion in September, up from US$ 883.7 million surplus in August, the central bank said on Wednesday.
Exports increased 9.3% year-on-year to US$ 4.75 billion in September, while imports dropped 39.7% to US$ 3.22 billion.
For the January to September period, exports and imports decreased by 31% and 36.7%, respectively over a year ago. During the period, the trade surplus amounted to US$ 9.02 billion.
