Monday, a report by the Australian Bureau of Statistics said the total value of dwelling finance commitments excluding alterations and additions, climbed a seasonally adjusted 0.3% month-on-month in June.
Commitments for owner occupied housing rose 1%, but was partly offset by a 1.8% fall in investment housing commitments.
Meanwhile, the number of loans for owner occupied housing rose 1.1% in June to 65,151. Loans for construction of dwellings climbed 2.8%, while those for purchase of established dwelling increased 1%. However, loans for purchase of new dwellings declined 0.2%.
