Retail sales in Australia declined a seasonally adjusted 1.4 percent in June.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics reported Tuesday that retail sales for the month totaled A$19.42 billion, compared to $19.70 billion in May.
Retail sales in June were up from the $18.07 billion recorded in June of last year.
The on-month decline compared to a monthly rise of 1.0 percent recorded in May.
Q2 sales were 2.0 percent lower than those in Q1 in chain volume terms. Department store sales were down 8.8 percent on month.
