South Korea posted a trade surplus of $4.05 billion in November, the Ministry of Knowledge Economy said on Tuesday. That was higher than the $3.6 billion surplus that analysts had been expecting after the $3.794 billion surplus in October.
Imports were up 4.7 percent on year to $30.22 billion. That was less than forecasts for an 8.6 percent annual expansion following the 16 percent annual plunge in the previous month.
Exports jumped 18.8 percent on year to $34.27 billion - shy of expectations for a 22.8 percent gain on year after the 8.5 percent annual contraction in the previous month.
