Friday, the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic announced that the trade surplus stood at EUR 225.3 million in October, down from EUR 256.8 million surplus in September. A year ago, the trade surplus was EUR 185.9 million.
Exports decreased 18.1% year-on-year to EUR 3.81 billion in October, while imports fell 21.8% to EUR 3.59 billion.
For the first ten months of the year, export decreased 24.6% to EUR 32.2 billion and imports dropped 27.3% to EUR 31.22 billion. The trade balance showed a surplus of EUR 1.005 billion.
