Tuesday, the Bank of England in a report said the M4 money supply grew 0.7% on a monthly basis in September, after remaining flat in August. Economists expected a 0.5% growth.
Year-on-year, the money supply rose 11.3% in September, slower than a 12.1% growth in August, and also less than economists' expectations of a 11.4% rise. The M4 money supply, excluding the effects of securitization, rose 0.7% month-on-month, and was up 7.9% on a yearly basis in September.
