South African New Vehicle Sales Continue To Fall In August

South Africa's new vehicle sales dropped 26.2% year-on-year in August to 29,667 units, although at a slower pace compared to previous months, the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa said Wednesday.

In the first eight months of the year, new vehicle sales declined 31.6% year-on-year to 258,542 units.

Meanwhile, reflecting the lower demand for vehicles in foreign markets, exports dropped at a record pace in August. Exports dipped 66.7% on a yearly basis in August to 9,030 vehicles.
