Poland's retail sales at current prices climbed 2.1% year-on-year in October, slower than a 2.5% rise in the previous month, the Central Statistical Office said Wednesday. Economists expected a 2.3% increase.
Textile, clothing and footwear showed the biggest rise in sales of 25.1%, followed by pharmaceuticals and cosmetic products, which showed a 17% rise.
Month-on-month, retail sales grew 3.9%, reversing a 0.7% fall in the previous month. This is the first rise, after two months of decline.
Meanwhile, retail sales at constant prices rose 0.7% year-on-year in October, at the same pace as in September.
