Saturday, Pakistan's Federal Bureau of Statistics reported that trade deficit in September narrowed 55.9% year-on-year to $897.92 million from $2.03 billion a year ago. In August, the trade deficit stood at $1.05 billion.
In September, exports were down 14.15% year-on-year, while they rose 2.62% from August. Imports dropped 36.44% from last year and 4.31% from the previous month.
During the July-September period, trade deficit stood at $3.09 billion, 44.74% narrower than $5.6 billion a year ago. Exports declined 13.86% during the period and imports fell 29.85%.
