Friday, a report from the Federal Bureau of Statistics showed that Pakistan's trade deficit stood at $1.04 billion in August, down 44.9% from the $1.90 billion deficit reported in the same month last year. In July, the deficit was $1.15 billion.
Exports dropped 5.4% year-on-year in August and were worth $1.48 billion, while imports plunged 27% to $2.52 billion.
On a monthly basis, exports dropped 0.6% in August, while imports were down 4.4%.
