Japan Auto Sales Increase In August

Japanese auto sales increased for the first time in 13 months, the latest report from the Japan Automobile Dealers Association showed Tuesday. Domestic sales of new cars, trucks and buses rose 2.3% on annual basis to 198,265 in August.

Passenger car sales were up 8.2%, while sales of trucks plunged 33.8% in August.
