Iceland Central Bank Holds Key Interest Rate For Second Month In August

Thursday, the Central Bank of Iceland maintained its policy interest rate at 12% for the second straight month.

The interest rates on current accounts are unchanged at 9.5%. Similarly, other interest rates are also kept unchanged.

In June, the central bank cut the rate by 100 basis points from 13%. The Sedlabanki has lowered the rate four times this year from a record 18%.
