Wednesday, Germany's Federal Statistical Office announced that the manufacturing turnover in real terms decreased 13.9% year-on-year in October, compared to the 13.5% fall in September, revised from 13.6% decline reported initially. Domestic turnover decreased 11.3% and revenue from business with foreign customers slipped 17.1%.
Month-on-month, turnover in manufacturing dropped a seasonally and working day adjusted 0.7% in October, slower than the 1.8% growth in September. Domestic sales rose 0.4 %, foreign turnover decreased 2.2%.
For the January to October period, turnover in manufacturing decreased 18.7% compared to the same period of the previous year. During the period, domestic turnover and foreign turnover declined by 15.2% and 22.7%, respectively.
