Austria Records Trade Deficit For January To May Period

Austria recorded a trade deficit of EUR 1.77 billion in the January to May period compared to a surplus of EUR 267.4 million in the same period last year, the Statistics Austria said Thursday.

Exports declined 24.2% year-on-year to EUR 38.08 billion, while imports fell 20.2% to EUR 39.85 billion.

Meanwhile, in May, the country had a trade deficit of EUR 121.8 million. Exports slipped 22.1% from the previous year, while imports were down 21.4%.
