Australia's gross domestic product was up a seasonally adjusted 0.2 percent in the third quarter of 2009 compared to the previous three months, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Wednesday.
That was below analyst expectations for a 0.4 percent quarterly gain after the 0.6 percent increase in the second quarter.
On an annualized basis, GDP was up 0.5 percent - again missing expectations for a 0.7 percent gain after the 0.6 percent increase in the second quarter.
Non-farm GDP grew 0.3 percent, while the terms of trade rose 1.0 percent and real gross domestic income rose 0.4 percent.
