French current account deficit widened in June as the deficit in goods trade widened and surpluses in services and revenue narrowed, the Bank of France said Wednesday.
The current account deficit was EUR 3.5 billion in June versus a revised EUR 2.3 billion deficit in May. The deficit in goods trade widened to EUR 4.3 billion from EUR 3.7 billion. The surplus on services trade contracted to EUR 1.1 billion from EUR 1.4 billion and that on revenue shrank to EUR 1.8 billion from EUR 2 billion.
Further, the capital account balance recorded a surplus of EUR 0.1 billion in June and the financial account balance logged EUR 1.2 billion deficit.
