Australia's unemployment rate held steady in July compared to June.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics reported Thursday that the nation's jobless rate remained at 5.8 percent in July, the same level as the month before.
The bureau said that in seasonally adjusted terms, overall employment increased by 32.200 to 10,793,500.
Full time employment, however, declined by 16,000 jobs to 7,590.400.
Part time employment increased b 48,200.
The number of unemployed Australians rose by just 800 to 664,100. The number of people seeking full time work declined by 4,800 and the number seeking part time work increased by 5,600.
The unemployment rate among males increased 0.1 percent to 6.2 percent while unemployment among females decreased 0.1 percent to 5.3 percent.
The employment participation rate rose by 0.1 percent to 65.3.
