Bulgaria Unemployment Rate Hits 7.9% In Q4

Bulgaria's National Statistical Institute said on Monday that the country's unemployment rate hit 7.9% in the December quarter, up from 5% in the same period a year ago.

A total of 272,800 Bulgarians were unemployed in the December quarter, up 95,100 from a year ago. The jobless rate among males stood at 8.4% while that among females was at 7.4%.

The unemployment rate among under 25s hit 19.5%, with a total of 53,200 jobless in the December quarter.
