Business investment in the UK fell 0.6% sequentially in the third quarter, less than the initially estimated fall of 3%, the Office for National Statistics said Friday.
British private and public sector manufacturing investment fell 9.4% since the second quarter and by 29.4% since the third quarter of 2008.
On an annual basis, investment plunged 19.9%, also less than the initial estimate of 21.7% decline. There were investment worth GBP 29.10 billion in the third quarter, the ONS said.
Compared to the second quarter, investment in private sector services increased 0.1% and that in other non-manufacturing gained 1.2%. Investment in construction rose 9.2%.
