Tuesday, the Turkish statistical office Turkstat announced that the unemployment rate in the country stood at 13% in June, up from 9.4% a year ago.
The number of unemployed persons totaled 3.27 million in June, larger than the 2.30 million in the same month last year. Total labor force increased to 25.22 million in June from 24.41 million a year ago.
Meanwhile, the labor force participation rate stood at 48.8% in June, up from 48.1% in the year-ago period.
