Japanese Small Business Confidence Drops Slightly In October

Wednesday, a report from Japan's Shoko Chukin Bank showed that confidence amongst small and medium sized enterprises slipped 0.1 point to 43.4 in October. A reading below 50 suggests that pessimists outnumber optimists.

Manufacturers' confidence rose 1.6 points to 45, while confidence amongst non-manufacturing firms dropped 1.5 to 42 in October.
