Japanese Small Business Confidence Improves In July

Wednesday, a report from the Shoko Chukin Bank showed that Japanese small and medium sized companies' confidence improved to 41.1 in July from a reading of 38 logged in June. A reading below 50 suggests that pessimists outnumber optimists.

Confidence amongst manufacturers' rose 4.5 points to 41.1, while non-manufacturer' sentiment increased 1.8 to 41 in July.
