Japanese July Eco Watchers Current Index Rises, Outlook Weakens

Monday, the latest monthly survey from the Japanese Cabinet Office showed that the current index rose to 42.4 in July from 42.2 in June, marking its seventh monthly rise. Meanwhile, the forward-looking index for the economy stood at 44.9 in July, down from 45.6 in June. The indicator dropped in July after rising for six straight months.
