India's garments exports declined 15.4% to $2.41 billion in the first quarter of the current fiscal due to falling demand in major markets, including the US and the EU, reports PTI. In the year-ago quarter, the country exported apparels valued at $2.85 billion. In June alone, they dipped 10.15%.
Rakesh Vaid, chairman of Apparel Export Promotion Council, said that silk exports dipped the most (29.31%) followed by cotton garments (14.13%) and woolen garments (7%) during the period.
