German Aug. ILO Jobless Rate At 7.7%

Germany's ILO unemployment rate stood at a seasonally adjusted 7.7% in August, the Federal Statistical Office reported Wednesday. During the same period of previous year, the jobless rate was 7.2%.

Compared with August 2008, unemployment increased by a seasonally adjusted 220,000 persons or 7.1%. From July 2009, the number of unemployed decreased by less than 10,000 persons or 0.1%.
