The total number of building consents issued for houses and apartments in Australia in October declined a seasonally adjusted 0.6 percent from September.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics reported Tuesday that a total of 12,814 consents were issued, an increase of 11.7 percent from one year earlier.
Private sector house approvals rose a seasonally adjusted 5.0 percent compared to September and 25.7 percent from one year earlier.
In terms of value, total building approvals declined 7.2 percent on month, total value for new residential construction was down .03 percent and non-residential building construction permits declined in value 14.4 percent.
