Job vacancies for skilled workers in Australia increased 1.9 percent on month in December, according to data released Wednesday by Australia's Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations.
The index reading for December is 42.9, which remains 25 percent below December of 2008.
DEWR reported increased numbers of skilled vacancies in 10 of the occupational groups comprising the index, with the strongest growth seen an automotive trades, metal trades and building/engineering associates.
