Sweden June Trade Surplus Widens

Monday, the Statistics Sweden announced that the net trade surplus stood at SEK 17.3 billion in June, widening from SEK 9.7 billion in May, revised from SEK 9.5 billion reported initially. A year earlier, the trade surplus was SEK 8.2 billion.

Exports value decreased 12% year-on-year to SEK 91.1 billion in June, while imports dropped 22% to SEK 73.8 billion.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, the net trade surplus amounted to SEK 10.1 billion in June, up from SEK 9.6 billion in May.

For the January to June period, the trade surplus stood at SEK 60.9 billion, down from SEK 62.9 billion in a year ago. At the same time, exports declined 20%, while imports decreased 22%.
