Friday, the Statistics Finland announced that the consumer price index or CPI dropped 0.6% year-over-year in July after falling 0.1% in June. Economists were looking for a decline of 0.1%.
The statistical office said the fall in consumer prices was driven by rising of food prices slowed down and interest rates fell from the previous year.
On a monthly basis, the CPI dropped 0.6% in July, compared with a 0.2% growth in the previous month.
Meanwhile, the harmonized index of consumer prices or HICP rose 1.2% annually and it was down 0.7% compared to the previous month.
