Wednesday, the Bank of Korea said the nation's M2, a narrower measure of money supply rose 9.3% in December from the prior year, the slowest growth since September 2006. The growth rate had eased to 9.7% in November. On a monthly basis, money supply rose 0.4%.
At the same time, the broadest L money supply measure grew at a faster pace of 11.4% in December, following a revised 10.4% rise in November. From November, L money supply moved up 0.9%.
