Japanese industrial output grew 1.9% month-on-month in December, revised down from 2.2%, the final report issued by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry showed on Monday. Annually, production was up 5.1%.
Further, the report showed that monthly growth in shipments was revised down to 1% from 1.1%. Meanwhile, inventory fell by a revised 0.1%. On an annual comparison, shipments climbed 5.2%, while inventory dropped by 14.7%.
Capacity utilization increased by a seasonally adjusted 1.4% in December on a monthly basis, following a 3.2% rise in November. On an unadjusted basis, capacity utilization moved up 7.4% annually.
