Ireland's consumer prices dropped at an annual pace of 3.9% in January, following a 5% fall in December, the Central Statistics Office showed Thursday. The decline on a monthly basis was 0.6%, slightly larger than the 0.5% decrease seen in December.
The EU Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices slipped 0.7% in January compared to a decrease of 0.8% in the same period of last year. Prices on average, as measured by the HICP, were 2.4% lower in January from the previous year.
