Thursday, results of a survey released by the French statistical office Insee showed that investment in the country's manufacturing sector is likely to increase moderately in 2010.
According to the latest survey of industrial investment, business leaders forecast 1% rise in their equipment expenditures in the manufacturing industry. In the previous survey, which was in October, business leaders forecast a 5% decline in investment this year. Investment in the whole industry is estimated to rise 4% this year.
Business managers estimate that investment dropped by 27% in the manufacturing industry and 25% in the industry as a whole in 2009.
