Wednesday, the Statistics Finland announced that the producer price index or PPI for manufactured products dropped 0.1% year-on-year in January, slower than the 2.6% fall in the previous month.
On a monthly basis, the PPI increased 1.1% in January, faster than the 0.4% growth in the preceding month.
Export price index declined 1.7% on an annual basis in January, compared to the 4% fall in the previous month. At the same time, import price index decreased 0.2%, after falling 1.9% in December. Month-on- month, export prices were up 0.4% and import prices rose 1%.
Meanwhile, the wholesale price index or WPI slipped 0.7% year-on-year in January, compared to the 2.8% fall in the prior month. The WPI increased 1.3% compared to the preceding month.
