Estonia Trade Deficit Widens In December

Estonia's trade balance logged a deficit of EEK 1.76 billion in December, larger than the EEK 1.21 billion deficit recorded a month ago, Statistics Estonia reported on Wednesday.

Exports decreased 1% year-on-year in December to EEK 8.60 billion while imports slipped 12% to EEK 10.35 billion.

In full year 2009 compared to 2008, exports from Estonia decreased 24% and imports were down 33%. The foreign trade deficit amounted to EEK 12.9 billion.
