Dutch Nov.-Jan. Jobless Rate Rises

Thursday, Netherlands Central Bureau of Statistics announced that the jobless rate stood at 5.6% in the November to January period, up from 5.3% recorded in the October to December period. The jobless rate came in line with economists expectations. A year ago, the jobless rate was 3.9%.

The number of unemployed totaled 430,000 persons in the November to January period, larger than the 410,000 persons in the previous three months ended in December.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, the number of unemployed amounted to 435,000 persons in the November to January period, larger than the 424,000 persons in the October to December period.
