Wednesday, the Statistics Denmark announced that the consumer price index or CPI increased 2% year-on-year in January, faster than the 1.4% growth in the previous month. Economists expected an increase of 1.5%.
On a monthly basis, the CPI rose 0.3% in January, after falling 0.2% in December. Economists were looking for a decline of 0.3%.
Meanwhile, the harmonized index of consumer prices or HICP rose 1.9% on an annual basis in January, faster than the 1.2% growth in the preceding month. The HICP climbed 0.3% compared to the preceding month.
