Retail sales in the Czech Republic fell an unadjusted 1.9% year-on-year in December, the Czech Statistical Office said on Monday. This was better than analyst expectations for a 3% decrease and follows a 4.9% decline in the previous month.
On a seasonally adjusted basis, retail sales increased 0.9% in December at constant prices compared to November. Year-on-year, adjusted sales were down 3.9%.
In the whole of 2009, retail trade including the automotive segment decreased 4.3% compared to 2008.
