Czech seasonally and calendar effects adjusted gross domestic product or GDP dropped 0.6% sequentially in the fourth quarter, preliminary estimate from the statistical office showed Friday. Compared to the previous year, the economy contracted 4.2%.
In 2009, GDP adjusted for price, seasonal and calendar effects fell by 4.3% in comparison to 2008.
Without adjusting for seasonal and calendar effects, the total real GDP in 2009 was down 4.4%. Meanwhile, the fourth quarter GDP dropped 3.9% year-on-year. The standard estimate of GDP and its components' development will be published on 11 March, the statistical office said.
