Bulgaria's industrial production decreased 12.1% year-on-year in December, the National Statistical Institute Wednesday.
Manufacturing output fell 14.3%, production of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply dropped 12%, while mining and quarrying production grew 13.6%. Production of investment goods decreased 19.4% and that of intermediate goods fell 16.8%.
On a monthly basis, industrial production declined 0.7% in December. In the same month, industrial turnover decreased 9.8% year-on-year, but grew 5.8% on a monthly basis.
In a separate report, the statistical office said construction production fell 13.6% month-on-month in December due to declines in building construction and civil engineering. Compared to the previous year, construction output plunged 33.3%.
In the period during January to December, construction production fell 15.3% over the same period a year ago.
