Business Confidence in Australia rose in the December quarter to a 15-year higher.
National Australia Bank's business confidence index for the final three months of 2009 rose 2.0 points to 18.0, the highest reading since Q4 of 1994.
The accompanying business conditions index, measuring the current business climate, increased by four points to plus-nine, the highest since Q2 of 2008.
The employment sub-index rose 5.0 points in Q4, registering a reading of plus-one, the first positive reading since Q3 of 2008.
"Expectations for business conditions for both the short term and 12-months ahead now line up not much below pre-global financial crisis levels," said NAB Chief Economist Alan Oster in a statement.
