Slovakia's gross domestic product declined 4.8% year-on-year at constant prices in the third quarter, smaller than the 4.9% decrease estimated earlier, the latest report from the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic showed Thursday. In the second quarter, the economy had contracted 5.5%. At current prices, GDP was down 5.7%, in line with flash estimate.
On a sequential basis, the economy expanded by a seasonally adjusted 1.6% at constant prices. Over the first nine months of 2009, GDP slipped 5.3% at constant prices and 6.7% at current prices.
