Singapore's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose slightly to 3.4% in the third quarter from 3.3% in the previous quarter, the Ministry of Manpower announced in a revised report on Tuesday. Among the resident labor force, the unemployment rate rose to 5% from 4.6%.
At the same time, the number of employed persons grew by 14,000 from the preceding quarter, reflecting better economic conditions. Employment levels increased in the construction and services sectors, while the manufacturing sector cut down staff levels for the fourth consecutive quarter.
