Philippines' unemployment rate stood at 7.1% in October, up from 6.8% in the previous year, the National Statistics Office reported on Tuesday. At the same time, the underemployment rate climbed to 19.4% from 17.5%.
In October, there were 35.5 million employed persons, with over half of that number employed in the services sector. The agriculture sector was the second largest employer and the third largest was the industry sector.
The statistical office also said that the labor force participation rate climbed to 64% in October from 63.7% a year ago.
