Italian Consumer Confidence Rises Unexpectedly In November

Italy's consumer confidence indicator rose to 112.8 in November from 111.7 recorded in October, economic think tank ISAE said Wednesday. That was an unexpected increase as economists had forecast a decline to 111.5.

Households' view on overall economy improved notably in November. The corresponding measure rose to 93.7 from October's 88.5. That was the highest level since May 2007.

A measure for short-term economic expectations climbed to 104.8 from 101.6. Current assessment index stood almost unchanged at 118.3 compared to 118.2 last month. However, personal situation index slightly dropped to 121.6 from 121.9.
